The Byline

BOMA Silicon Valley members will receive their dues renewal packets in the mail this November. Some highlights:

  • No increase!  The Board of Directors has held the line on 2015 dues for members in all categories.
  • A full schedule of education, information, and networking. BOMA Committees have calendared a variety of events each month in 2015.
  • Discounts, rebates, and more savings.  BOMA members are eligible for rebates from The Home Depot and through a variety of municipal programs.  In addition, BOMA Media partner, the Silicon Valley Business Journal is offering members a 30% discount on annual subscriptions to their weekly publication.
  • More contacts and visibility options. BOMA members rely on our directory, website, online Buyers Guide and Associates Night Trade Show as resources to select new vendors or services. This year BOMA members can highlight key or new business services with ad space in our Buyers Guide or by sharing information on our Industry News / Service Providers Updates pages.

BOMA Silicon Valley serves commercial real estate professionals by informing about trends and changes in our industry, protecting their properties through advocacy efforts, and developing relationships with colleagues, your best professional resource.

The Board of Directors hopes you will recognize the value of BOMA membership.  Join us again in 2015!

Elections, Codes & Politics

BOMA California lobbyist, Matthew Hargrove, Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs at the California Business Properties Association, will join us at our annual Government Affairs luncheon on November 20.  Hargrove will share what, if any, changes the mid-term elections will cause, as well as proposed legislation placed on our commercial real estate "watch list" for 2015.

BOMA Cal works year-round to protect your property!  Our volunteers and staff meet with legislators to offer information and consequences of proposed legislation.  Through our affiliation with the California Business Properties Association, we work with partners like NAIOP, IREM, ICSC and others to present the commercial real estate message.   For a brief re-cap of BOMA Cal's 2014 successes, click here.

BOMA Shares

Once again BOMA volunteers are gearing up for their annual fundraiser to provide gifts and food to needy families and children in the South Bay.  With their charity partner, CityTeam, BOMA expects to help over 30 families with 100+ children.

2015 Share Your Holiday Chairman Sam Russell, Accel Air Systems, has gathered a dedicated committee to organize the SYH fundraising luncheon, as well as coordinating the shopping and gift delivery for the families and children.

The commercial real estate community is invited to participate in this worthwhile activity:  donate, attend, shop and deliver – or do all three!  What a great company-wide holiday project idea!  Involve your whole family:  shopping and delivering to these needy kids will be a memory that will impact your kids for a lifetime.
