BOMA Resources Can Make Your Budget Season Less Crazy!

BOMA members are deep in the budget process. Getting accurate numbers for that next project or assessing whether your projected costs fit the average dollars spent in our area can be a time-consuming challenge. BOMA is here to help!

RESOURCE #1
Check your BOMA Directory or our online Buyers Guide for the best of the best in a wide variety of service lines. BOMA Silicon Valley Associates are ready to support you in prepping for 2018. Your local professional network has accurate figures and the experience to back your planning efforts. Call them!

RESOURCE #2
BOMA SV’s Board of Directors has approved the 2018 budget…with no change in BOMA dues cost for our members in 2018. But the Board has added a new benefit for all BOMA member types!  In addition to the 4 quarterly lunches already included in the dues package, each 2018 member will be eligible for a $250 education subsidy which may be used to lower your cost for any BOMA SV offered RPA or FMA designation class or certificate course. Education and training are key for your career advancement. This subsidy helps cut that budget item down to size.

RESOURCE #3
Are your expenses in line with industry trends? According to BOMA International’s recently released benchmarking reports, the 2017 Office EER and 2017 Industrial EER, income and operating expenses in the U.S. increased slightly in both sectors, as compared to last year’s reports.

Get your copy of the EER to compare your figures!

Earn A Two Percent Rebate On Your Home Depot Purchases

BOMA members participating in a national rebate incentive program with The Home Depot have earned more than $10 million in rebates to date — more than $3 million in 2016 alone!

You can earn money back on your purchases, too. The Home Depot rebate program offers BOMA members a two percent annual rebate on all qualifying in-store and online pre-tax purchases of thousands of products in Paint, Janitorial, Flooring, Plumbing, Electrical and more, plus other special savings and services, such as dedicated support, delivery, competitive pricing and volume discounts.

There is no cost to enroll in the program. Rebates are distributed annually at the end of the rebate period, which runs through February, and annual purchases must total a minimum of $25,000 to qualify. This program is open to all BOMA members, including associate members.

Enroll now and start earning money on your company’s Home Depot purchases. Be sure to enter the program code BOMA when you register. If you are already enrolled in the program, be sure your account and payment information is up-to-date so that you don’t miss out on any savings or rebates.

BOMA Launches Its Water and Waste Challenge

The 2017 BOMA International Conference & Expo featured the official launch of BOMA International's W2 Challenge, a two-year initiative to encourage commercial real estate professionals to benchmark water and waste consumption and improve performance.

With the support of a generous grant from Yardi and in partnership with BOMA local associations, BOMA International is proud to launch the new challenge to highlight and expand the sustainability efforts of the commercial real estate industry. The program will use ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager, which is already a popular tool for tracking energy use. The first year of the challenge will establish a baseline of water and waste consumption and costs, and the second year will promote performance improvements. Participants will receive progress reports, as well as guidance and best practices from BOMA and industry partners, and will be eligible for recognition for their leadership.

The challenge runs from January 1, 2018, through the end of 2019, but make a commitment now so you'll have the details you need to be ready at the start of the program. Visit www.boma.org/W2 to sign up and take your sustainability efforts to the next level.
